🥑 Easiest Homemade Avocado Oil Recipe (Heat Method)
🧂 Ingredients:
5–10 ripe avocados (the more, the better the yield)
🛠️ Tools Needed:
Spoon & knife
Blender or fork (for mashing)
Large non-stick pan or skillet
Cheesecloth or clean kitchen towel
Bowl or container
Glass jar or bottle (for storing)
👩🍳 Instructions:
- Prepare the Avocados
Cut each avocado in half.
Remove the pit and scoop out the flesh into a bowl. - Make Avocado Paste
Use a blender or mash with a fork until smooth and creamy.
The smoother the paste, the better the oil release. - Cook the Paste
Add the avocado paste to a large non-stick pan.
Cook over low to medium heat, stirring often.
Cook for 30–45 minutes until:
The paste turns dark green or brown
Oil begins to separate from the pulp - Cool the Paste
Remove from heat and let it cool for 10–15 minutes. - Extract the Oil
Place cheesecloth or a clean towel over a bowl.
Spoon the paste into the cloth.
Squeeze and twist to extract as much oil as possible. - Store the Oil
Pour the strained oil into a glass jar or bottle.
Store in a cool, dark place or refrigerate.
Use within 2–3 months.
✅ Tips:
Use very ripe (but not rotten) avocados for best results.
This method gives a green-tinted, slightly nutty oil — great for cooking, skin, or hair use.
Yield is small: ~1–2 tablespoons of oil per 5 avocados.
