When we reach an advanced age, it's quite common for some red spots to appear on the skin that may resemble small blood blisters; however, age is not a factor to consider, as there are cases of young people between 20 and 30 years old who have them

The reality is that in most cases they can appear from the age of 40 onwards, but don't worry, they are known as cherry angiomas, but their medical name is   "acquired capillary angiomas"  .

Maria Rosa Marti, a renowned dermatologist, explains: “They are small capillaries that irrigate the dermal tissue and that for whatever reason they dilate and can no longer return to their original state, they stretch out, so little by little they create a small pool of blood that ends up acquiring a rounded shape.”

Currently, it is still not known for certain why they appear, and it is believed to be a familial component, but the sun could be the cause of their appearance. That is why, since it is not known for certain, several dermatologists give their opinions, and through this, different hypotheses arise about acquired capillary angiomas

So far, age is the most determining factor and sooner or later everyone will have these “blood blisters”.

“These blisters are signs of our skin aging,” explains Maria Rosa Martí, adding that they don't affect any particular gender; They simply appear on anyone's skin, regardless of sex, and at virtually any age, so    their cause remains a  mystery.

The question many are asking is, can it be eliminated?

The answer to the question is   YES  , although it is not a serious problem or anything, it can be aesthetically bothersome, and it can also cause problems when having intimate moments, so you can choose to have the blister removed.

The Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (AEDV) explains on its website that laser techniques are quite good at removing skin imperfections, from wrinkles to scars or other lesions that we may have on the skin, so it would be a good option.

If we get rid of these annoying blisters, it doesn't mean more won't appear in the future, as this is a physiological process of aging. Now that you know, you can rest easy, but don't forget to see your doctor to check any small red spots that appear on your skin.
